Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger stated a word of caution against complacency at St Marys Stadium:
“Southampton are above the expected [level] and the quality of their displays has been very good. Everybody who goes today to Southampton knows that they will get a difficult game. That's why we want to focus on being at our best because Southampton is a game where you want to take the points but you know we will need to fight to get them.”
Liverpool fans have got their wish for cheaper tickets for the FA Cup tie between the two in February.
Arsenal have made the game a Category B fixture - meaning the price of tickets for the travelling fans will be capped at £54 not the original £93.
Arsenal’s deal with Puma, which was announced on Monday, could reportedly see them bring in star players such as Radamel Falcao.
Falcao is currently one of Puma’s flagship representatives and is said to be unhappy with current club AS Monaco.
However he is side-lined currently after rupturing his cruciate ligament last week.
Nico Yennaris has joined Brentford on a permanent deal. The Arsenal youngster has never really made the breakthrough for the club - despite making his Arsenal debut against Manchester United in January 2012.
He has joined for an undisclosed fee, and said of the move:
“This is the best thing for my career. The club told me about their plans. It is an exciting challenge for me. The club are on the up and there has been a plan for a few years now.”
