Luke James of Hartlepool has reportedly been attracting interest from the top two divisions
Although this must be something James is used to now, ever since he burst onto the scene at the club scoring his first ever goal with a 25-yard volley in a 2-0 victory over Rochdale two years ago.
James was handed a lot of opportunities in the 2011-2012 season in League One and continued to take them. After he scored a brace against Carlisle in January 2012, 21 scouts went to watch him in action at his next game. However it took him eight months after the brace against Carlisle to find the net again with a goal against Scunthorpe United.
However this season, in League Two, James has found the net on a more consistent basis for the club. He has scored ten goals in all competitions this season, and is the club's top goalscorer.
After winning the Football League One Apprentice of the year in 2013, James seems to have matured and now established himself as a key player for Hartlepool United. Credit goes to the club for that, as so often there is a lot excitement about a new young talent, and there is a tremendous amount of pressure on them straight away.
Hartlepool have nurtured the talent well, and didn't expose him to too much first team football straight away. They are reaping the benefits now, and will be hoping that can cling on to their talent.
There could well be a few offers for the highly-rated youngster before Friday's transfer window deadline.
