7 games, 0 goals conceded - Don't expect Chelsea, Man City targets to leave Real Madrid

Real Madrid have literally one of the best defences in Europe at the moment.

Premier League sides with an interest in any Real Madrid defender may struggle to pull off a deal this week or leading into the summer.

Los Blancos are yet to concede a goal this year as Carlo Ancelotti has found a blend of players and a balance which works perfectly, setting his side up for wins each game.

The side have amazingly allowed opposition sides just 13 shots on target from seven games, making them difficult to breach and get the better of in games so far in 2014.

Chelsea have previously been linked with Raphael Varane and Manchester City with Pepe in two of the higher profile transfer rumours related to the Real Madrid back four looking all the way back to last summer.

However, Varane’s return from a knee injury has strengthened the Real Madrid back four while Pepe has been one of the side’s most consistent players with 18 league appearances so far this season.

Add to that the experience which comes from Sergio Ramos as well as the talent from Alvaro Arbeloa and Marcelo in wide positions and it would be pointless for Ancelotti to consider breaking up his current crop of defensive stars.

The obvious counter is that the four La Liga games and three Copa del Rey games haven’t come against high profile and supposedly difficult sides to play against but it’s still a remarkable achievement.

There could well be further rumours this week as deadline day and the end of the transfer window draw closer but Ancelotti isn’t naïve enough to consider changing a defence and selling players, when they’re literally doing the perfect defensive job.
