10 interesting stats heading into Premier League matchday 23

Everton, Manchester United, Sunderland, Swansea City, Crystal Palace, Tottenham, Liverpool, Chelsea and Cardiff City feature.

1 – Everton are the only team to avoid losing to Liverpool when Luis Suárez has scored this season. The Reds have won the other 10 Premier League matches in which their Uruguayan forward has scored. Everton travel to Anfield on Tuesday after drawing 3-3 at Goodison Park back in November.

2 – Manchester United have conceded hat-tricks in two of their last 23 Premier League matches. Samuel Eto’o netted three times versus the Red Devils in their last match, after Romelu Lukaku, on-loan from Chelsea came off the bench to net a hat-trick for West Brom during the thrilling 5-5 draw on the final game of last season. Prior to these, Manchester United had allowed only two hat-tricks in their first 809 Premier League matches.

2 – Sunderland have picked up just 2 points from five matches at the Stadium of Light since beating Manchester City in November. The Black Cats host Stoke City on Wednesday as Gus Poyet looks to take his team out of the relegation zone.

8 – Swansea City are on the longest current winless run in the Premier League, stretching to eight matches. The Swans have not won since thrashing Newcastle 3-0 on Wednesday 4 December at the Liberty Stadium, picking up just three points since. Michael Laudrup’s side host Fulham on Tuesday, themselves only picking up 3 points from their last four Premier League matches.

13 – Tony Pulis has collected 13 points from his 10 games in charge of Crystal Palace; an improvement on the 7 points from 12 matches with Ian Holloway in charge. The Eagles host Hull City on Tuesday night with the Tigers on a 3-match losing streak.

16 – Tim Sherwood has taken 16 points from a possible 18 to start his career at White Hart Lane. Only Carlo Ancelotti (Chelsea – 18) has picked up more points from his first six Premier League matches. Spurs host high-flying Manchester City on Wednesday.

14% – Only 3 of his Luis Suárez’s 22 Premier League goals this season have come against current top half sides.

20 – Chelsea are undefeated in their last 20 Premier League matches at Stamford Bridge since losing at home to Queens Park Rangers on 2 January 2013. The Blues have won 17 and drawn 3 matches since. José Mourinho’s side play host to West Ham on Wednesday.

28 – Manchester United have picked up 28 points from a possible 33 versus current bottom half sides. David Moyes’ side host bottom of the league Cardiff City on Tuesday night.

80% – Fraizer Campbell has scored 4 of his 5 Premier League goals this season against the two Manchester clubs. The Cardiff City striker has scored in all three matches with Manchester sides this season, netting in the 2-2 draw at home to Manchester United earlier this season, whom they face at Old Trafford on Tuesday.
