Transfer Clock: Shock Januzaj bid, Diego Costa and Draxler latest, £30m battle for...

Januzaj And United Celebrate

Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Swansea City all feature.

TRANSFER CLOCK: 26 days down, five to go until the Transfer Window closes: Here are five of the biggest developing stories of the past 24 hours.

1) Reports in Spain have claimed Chelsea have a 'verbal agreement' with Atletico Madrid to sign Diego Costa at the end of the season. The Metro cite Spanish broadcaster comments made by agent Francois Gallardo to programme La Sexta that Chelsea will meet his £32 million release clause in the summer.

There are however many reasons to be doubtful on this. Gallardo does not represent Diego Costa, and is known for his wild claims with regard to transfers. Earlier this season he claimed it was certain Lionel Messi will leave Barcelona this coming summer.

It also flies against reports Atletico Madrid will attempt to re-negotiate Diego Costa's contract over the coming weeks, and increase the value of his release clause.

2) Arsenal's attempted signing of Julian Draxler is no further forward after Schalke general manager Horst Heldt told Sky Deutschland on Sunday evening there had been no bid for the in-demand German. This goes against a report in The Mirror on Saturday evening which claimed the Gunners had put forward a €30 million offer. He did add that he 'could not exclude' anything, but as there have been no developments, Schalke have no concerns regarding the player.

3) Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj was the subject of a shock transfer bid from PSG this month, the Guardian report. The paper report that United flatly refused the approach from the French champions and do not want to negotiate. The exact transfer offer has not been divulged, but the paper describe it as 'significant'.

4) Blackpool have reportedly permitted Tom Ince to enter talks with a Premier League club over a loan move until the end of the season, with a small fee likely to be asked. Ince has been tipped to move abroad when his contract expires on a free transfer this summer. Swansea City are claimed by The Mail to be the club most keen on signing the England under-21 star, a switch which would have extra intrigue as he rejected a transfer to rivals Cardiff City in the summer.

5) Manchester United are pushing to beat Chelsea to Southampton's Luke Shaw. The Telegraph report that chief executive Ed Woodward has been tasked with securing a £30 million summer deal. Shaw is an admitted Chelsea fan, and both clubs are likely to want to replace Patrice Evra and Ashley Cole respectively. Southampton have been perfectly clear they will not sell this transfer window, and have not encouraged any summer transfer publicly, but should a bidding war break out for the left-back, it will be hard not to consider offers.
