West Ham United have had a frustrating Transfer Window so far. The likes of Johnny Heitinga, Lacina Traore and Ishak Belfodil have all gone elsewhere - with plenty of people suggesting the ‘Big Sam factor’ was putting potential signings off of a move.
Which seemed strange - because in his Bolton heyday he was signing up star names like they were going out of fashion?
And his most recent acquisition is certainly one that would have been very popular back at the Reebok - as Italian international Antonio Nocerino has signed for the club. The arrival of Michael Essien at Milan last night left Nocerino clear to move on - after falling out of favour this season.
He has not been in the best of form - but he starred for the Rossoneri when they beat Arsenal in the Champions League a couple of seasons back - and is a fully-fledged Italian international, so his arrival should not be ignored.
Another Azzurri international has flown in for talks today - as Marco Borriello could join from AS Roma on a loan deal.
But for now Hammers fans can begin to get excited about seeing Nocerino in Claret-and-Blue.
