Finally Chelsea fans get what they want…Twitter jokes on Mata departure

Twitter is often a source of groundbreaking analysis and instant information but there are those times when it’s just for fun…

What’s the point in being a football fan if you can’t make a dig at your rivals clubs losses and failures? One Manchester United fan certainly took their opportunity to have a laugh at the expense of his mates over at Stamford Bridge on the topic of the Blues sale of Juan Mata for £37 million.

I suppose there is a point to be made – after all Chelsea fans had made similar jibes all summer long as the Blues openly and aggressively pursued England number ten Wayne Rooney who had been the subject of serious doubts over his future as speculation ensued following Sir Alex Ferguson’s revelation the striker had asked for a transfer from the Premier League champions.

However, just before Red Devils fans get too carried away, Chelsea may yet have the last laugh if reports that manager Jose Mourinho is planning to reassert his interest in attempts to sign Rooney in the summer. The only certainty at this point is that the Twitter jokes will keep on rolling until then.
