Michael Laudrup may see the FA Cup match as both a good and a bad thing. Given the amount og games the Swans have already played this season, his small squad could do with a rest. However, they also need some good results to boost their confidence and, hopefully in the longer term, their league position.
Birmingham may also have more focus on their Championship campaign, but this match gives them a chance to take a top-flight scalp, which could instil confidence in a side just five points about the relegation zone in the second tier.
The only previous encounter between these two sides in this competition was in 1950, a match the Swans won 3-0. Six years later, Birmingham were runners-up.
What do you think the result will be this afternoon?
