Chelsea have been busy throughout the January period - with plenty of players going out, and replacements arriving just as quick.
So with Mata gone and Matic in; De Bruyne out and Sala arriving - it seemed as though that was it for Chelsea.
Earlier today it appeared as though Jose Mourinho had slammed the entrance door shut on any sort of activity at the club for the rest of the month - as he stated:
“Hopefully we are done. We are not bringing in a striker in this window."
However, the French press do not believe that is the case.
A striker may not be on the menu … but what about a centre-back.
Mourinho is not sold on David Luiz in defence - so cover for John Terry and Gary Cahill is certainly another option.
The one option who has continually popped up in the rumour column is young French star Kurt Zouma.
The talented teenager has been a long-term target for many a big club - and it is believed that his club Saint-Etienne may now be ready to let him leave at a good price.
The Chelsea interest is no secret.
Zouma himself addressed the chit-chat the other day, stating:
“When a great man like Jose Mourinho calls a little player like Kurt Zouma, it’s nice. It doesn’t happen every day and it’s a big sign of respect and confidence. If you tell me to go to Chelsea, I’ll go there immediately! Especially after the call from the coach. It’s given me ideas. I’m playing my third season in Ligue 1. In June, it will be time to go and see how things happen elsewhere.”
They claim that Chelsea have agreed a five-and-a-half year deal for the player - which would also indicate he will be on his way this month, rather than the summer.
The fee is going to be in advance of €15 million - and if he does arrive he will go back to the club on loan until the end of the season.
