Manchester United, Atletico Madrid, FC Porto, Everton and Southampton stars all feature.

Chelsea have had quite a week on the transfer market as Juan Mata has all but officially become a Manchester United player, with a deal agreed to bring in Mohamed Salah from FC Basel.

Chelsea continue to be linked with further signings and boss Jose Mourinho could make further additions before the close of the transfer window next week.

We’ve taken a look at the top five players, Salah aside, to have been linked with signing for the Blues this week.

1) Wayne Rooney (Manchester United)

The Mirror has suggested that the Blues will prepare an assault to land Rooney from United in the summer. It’s reported that Chelsea allowing Mata to go to United could give them the edge to sign the front man at the end of the season.

2) Diego Costa (Atletico Madrid)

Chelsea continue to be linked with a move for the Atletico Madrid striker, as Mourinho reportedly mulls over his options in attack. Atletico boss Diego Simeone has admitted that no player is indispensible to his club but any transfer seems more likely to occur in the summer.

3) Jackson Martinez (FC Porto)

Chelsea remain linked with the Porto star despite recent reports which have suggested he’s ready to sign a new deal with his current side. It’s reported that the Blues won’t be put off by any higher buy-out clause in a new contract for the striker at the Portuguese club.

4) Ross Barkley (Everton)

Barkley has really excelled under the guidance of Roberto Martinez at Everton. He has been suggested as a possible replacement although Martinez has previously suggested the Toffees wouldn’t sell the young midfielder for even £50 million.

5) Luke Shaw (Southampton)

Shaw gave a question and answer session on Twitter this week, which was hijacked by Chelsea fans wanting to know when he was going to join the club or why he wasn’t thinking about. Shaw’s name regularly comes up as a potential Ashley Cole replacement.
