Real Madrid fullback Fabio Coentrao has been linked with a move to Manchester United all season.
The news was welcomed with joy and celebration by close friends and family as the couple held a party to publicise their news.
The Red Devils are after a new left-back as Patrice Evra is unlikely to be at the club beyond this season and their pursuit of Leighton Baines hit a brick wall.
The Independent published a story regarding the Portuguese fullback possibly joining the club on loan just over ten days ago, yet further reports suggested that Real Madrid were only willing to sell the player – for a hefty sum of £20m.
Fabio Coentrao has barely featured this season for the Los Blancos, whether ruled out through injury or simply out of favour with Brazilian fullback Marcelo cementing down the first-team spot. The 25-year-old has started just four La Liga games so far this campaign, and with the emergence of Spanish left-back Nacho, it will be difficult to see how the situation can continue.
The same sources that clamed Real Madrid were willing to allow Coentrao to leave but only for cash also publicised the defender’s intentions of moving to old Trafford.
So could the pregnancy of Andreia Coentrao be good news for Manchester United?
If Manchester United are to get their man, then surely there could not be a better time than now. The birth of their child is likely to happen after the World Cup, with the stressful months of labour coinciding with the summer transfer window.
It is highly probable that the couple will want their family to be in a settled place and will be making concrete plans now, as doing round-trips around Europe this summer will be completely off the agenda.
A transfer to Old Trafford now will ensure the family have enough time to create a home and plan for their big summer moment with the knowledge of a secure short-term future.
