Juventus' offer for American starlet is rejected

Juventus have seen an offer for Sporting Kansas City's 16-year-old defender Erik Palmer-Brown rejected, it has been revealed.

Tuttosport reports that Juventus tabled an offer for one of America's most exciting prospects Erik Palmer-Brown but it was turned down by Sporting Kansas City.

USA Under-18 international Palmer-Brown has been part of Sporting Kansas City's youth set-up since the age of 11.

Palmer-Brown is still studying but has still found time to train with SKC's senior side since he reached 16 and he has wowed scouts and coaches alike.

He has impressed sufficiently to win the chance to train with the USA's Under-20 squad and Juventus scouts have seen him play for the USA at various age groups.

There are reports in the USA that the bid was around £600,000, which would be a small sum for the Old Lady but a significant amount to turn down for an MLS side.

USA international Michael Bradley played in Serie A from 2011 until this winter when he left Roma for Toronto FC.

Defender Alexi Lalas was the first American of the modern era to ply his trade in Serie A when he signed for Padova in the aftermath of the 1994 World Cup.
