The 28-year-old midfielder has been linked this week with a move to Upton to join the Hammers in their fight for survival in the Premier League. The AC Milan maestro is valued around £4 million and could well be on his way to the East London club to negotiate the terms of a deal.
Now he has been snapped at Turin airport and the pic has been Tweeted by Juventus correspondent Romeo Agresti on Twitter - and it is believed he is flying to London to tie up the details of a switch.
Formerly an Italy international with 15 caps to his name, Nocerino has spent his entire career in Serie A, beginning his career with Juventus before going out on no less than six loan spells in his homeland and eventually signing for Palermo in 2008 where he spent three years until his 2011 move to AC Milan.
Nocerino could be the ideal solution to Hammers boss Sam Allardyce’s injury woes this term – Mohamed Diame is out injured with a knee problem and Joe Cole picked up a groin injury adding frustration to the boss’ already difficult list of injured players.
Andy Carroll’s return to action last week will inspire hope that West Ham can grind out some results and dig themselves out of trouble at the bottom end of the Premier League table as we head into the business end of the season and an addition of a midfielder like Nocerino would certainly improve their chances. Hammers fans can hope now that help is on the way.
