Davor Suker has been signing the praises of Luka Modric, and feels that his ex-employers are a better side with the Croatian in the starting XI.
It is very rare that Arsenal and Tottenham affiliated players have any sort of praise for each other, as the North London divide runs deep.
However, one former Gunners striker has been singing the praise of an ex-White Hart Lane star in Spain.
Davor Suker, who scored eight Premier League goals for the Emirates Stadium side in a solitary season with the club back in 2000-01, has been talking up Luka Modric.
The Croatia international, who spent four seasons with Tottenham, has started to have an increased influence at Real Madrid this season under Carlo Ancelotti.
Suker has been full of kind words for his countryman, and feels that the Santiago Bernabeu outfit are better equipped with Modric in the starting XI.
"Real plays better when Modric is on the pitch,” Suker told Marca. “He's happy with Real Madrid, but within his humility is looking to win titles.
“He's highly motivated, loves football and will not stop until he has won something big.
"Luka plays at a high level, but that's no surprise. He is one of the leaders at Real, he commands a great area of the pitch, he knows how to both play in defence as well as in attack and creates some real danger."
With both Sami Khedira and Xabi Alonso suffering prolonged periods on the sidelines of late, Modric has been a favourite of Ancelotti’s and featured in 19 of Madrid’s 20 La Liga games this term.
