Valencia midfielder Ever Banega has been a reported target for Manchester United boss David Moyes
The Argentine midfielder is expected to leave La Liga side Valencia yet his destination remains an uncertainty.
According to Spanish source plazadeportiva Banega could abandon Valencia as early as this month as the Manchester United linked man has received a very healthy offer from rich Dubai side Al Ahli de Dubai.
The reported contract offered to Banega is in the region of €3m per year, practically doubling his current wage at Valencia.
The Dubai club have made an offer of €8m for his services, a fee in which Valencia might feel reluctant to agree on given the circumstances despite asking for much more last summer.
Al Ahli de Dubai have grown in stature as a club and can offer Europe’s leading stars fortune and fame to join their club. Players such as ex-Wolfsburg striker Grafite and former Newcastle star Hugo Viana currently ply their trade out in the desert, succumbing to its vast wealth.
Yet, with the transfer window winding down and the departure of Ever Banega inevitable, perhaps it would be a good time for Manchester United to follow up their reported interest and bring in the much-needed central midfielder.
Following Manchester United’s exit from the League Cup Semi-Final and the FA Cup earlier this month, 4th spot has now become the main priority. The Red Devils current sit six points adrift of Liverpool in the Champions League places, and that seems to have triggered Moyes into abandoning his initial announcement regarding not signing anyone in January.
A deal for Juan Mata looks imminent, but do Manchester United really need more forward players when they already have Rooney, Van Persie, Januzaj, Welbeck and Valencia?
The priority for United should be that soft central midfield area – an area which could effortlessly be improved with the signing of want away midfielder Ever Banega.
