Tottenham latest: Quadruple injury boost, Holtby rumours rumble on

A selection of the latest stories featuring Tottenham Hotspur this Thursday evening.

Spurs have been handed an injury boost with no less than four players returning to action ahead of next week’s clash with Manchester City in a friendly against West Ham.

Younes Kaboul played 45 minutes of the Spurs XI’s 3-0 win over West Ham with Jan Vertonghen, Sandro and Paulinho all playing until the hour mark.

Harry Kane scored twice whilst Paulinho also managed to get on the scoresheet. There were several other high profile players including Brad Friedel, Kyle Naughton, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Lewis Holtby.

The last of that quartet has been strongly linked with a move back to Schalke with Klaas Jan-Hunterlaar telling Bild: ‘Holtby would help us. He can play in nearly every position in midfield. Lewis has quality, and Schalke can always use that.’

This morning’s Daily Mail claimed that Tottenham are on the lookout for more English talent. Players that were linked to the club in the report include Southampton’s Luke Shaw

Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has said he is impressed with in-form striker Emmanuel Adebayor’s all-round performances according to the club’s website.

Lloris is quoted saying: ‘Take away the fact he scored the goals, he worked a lot of the team.

‘He made a lot of runs and created a lot of space around him.

‘Sometimes when you are struggling in a game he’s a good target, he can keep the ball and help the team to play higher up the pitch.’
