Report: Inter reject shock Stoke bid for starlet

According to Sportmediaset, Inter have turned down an ambitious attempt by Stoke City to sign striker Mauro Icardi.

Stoke have reportedly seen an unlikely bid to sign one of Inter's rising stars Mauro Icardi turned down.

Argentine international striker Icardi joined Inter from Sampdoria last summer and is widely tipped for the very top even though he is struggling to break through for the Nerazzurri.

The 20-year-old has a tendency to make headlines off the pitch and news of his personal life is often reported in the Italian media.

News of Icardi's explosive relationship with Argentine TV star and ex-wife of Maxi Lopez, Wanda Nara, is often published in both Italian and South American press.

It was widely reported recently that doctors at Inter had suggested Icardi's recent injury problems could be linked to his love life.

Icardi has been struggling with a sports hernia since November and has hardly been able to kick a ball for Inter.

Sportmediaset claims that a Stoke director made an ambitious attempt to sign Icardi on a paid loan for the rest of the current campaign by turning up at Inter's headquarters to present an offer.

However, it seems that Inter weren't willing to consider letting the marksman leave temporarily and have declined to consider doing business.
