Last night was a monumental occasion for Chelsea youngster Thorgan Hazard. He was the absolute star at the Belgian football award show as he won the Belgian Talent of the Year and the biggest prize of the night - the Belgian Golden Shoe.
Hazard is currently on loan at Zulte-Waregem, whom he took to the brink of the Belgian title last season - and has continued his good form into the 2013-14 campaign.
Such form has seen him in the Belgium national team in the past calendar year - and is now on the brink of making it into the Belgian national squad for the World Cup in Brazil next season.
Last night he spoke of the award - and barely contained his excitement in doing so:
"I want to thank the club again. Last year, 2013, was a fantastic year for the whole team and for the fans. I also want to thank my family and my fiancée."
He has recently been linked with spending the next 18 months on loan with Belgian champions Anderlecht. However he ended that speculation today as he decided to remain a Zulte player for the next six months:
“I have decided to stay at Zulte Waregem. I wanted to go to Anderlecht but the parties have unfortunately found no agreement. I wish to stop the soap opera. Yesterday I was absent from training because I was all the fuss around me. I have talked about it with my family, they thought it better that I stayed with Essevee."
His family of course includes his older brother Eden Hazard. When Thorgan signed for Chelsea Eden made the claim that the younger brother would become the better of the pair.
And Eden was at the award ceremony to see his little brother pick up his awards - and he soon posted an embarrassing picture of his baby bro in the way big brothers can only get away with.
Obviously the night was all too much for the 20-year-old - as he crashed out in his bed.
But Eden had nice words for his sibling stating 'Good night Tweeters thank you all! Thanks everyone!'
But he did not let loose his grasp on those awards…

Now the two will hopefully feature in the Chelsea first-team one day in the not so distant future.
