Arsenal transfer news: Bendtner staying, not giving up on Draxler and Barca scouting

All the latest transfer news from The Emirates Stadium.

Nicklas Bendtner’s agent has performed a massive U-turn on behalf of his client - and insisted the Dane does not want to leave the club in January, or in the summer.

Bendtner was widely expected to leave the club in the summer - holding talks with Crystal Palace on Transfer Deadline Day. However Arsenal could not bring in a replacement striker, so Arsene Wenger pulled the plug on any exit for the forward.

He has since gone on to impress in his few moments on the pitch this season - and his agent Tom Brooks insists he is not going anywhere this month:

"You've got to ask Arsene Wenger about that. We have not been in touch with Arsenal about it. We might discuss it with Arsenal later in case it is necessary. Nicklas is focused on Arsenal and regaining his fitness."

Arsenal are now said to be after Sergi Roberto. Arsene Wenger was spotted at Heathrow Airport yesterday and rumours abounded over where he would be travelling.

Wenger was then spotted in the stands for the Copa del Rey tie between Barcelona v Levante. It is now rumoured that Wenger was keeping an eye on the services of midfielder Sergi Roberto.

Rumoured to be available at £6 million he has recently made an impact on the first-team at the club.

The Mirror report that Arsenal are not ready to give up on bringing in Julian Draxler this month. The Schalke 04 playmaker has been linked with the club all month but the clubs CEO poured cold water on the move yesterday.

However the Bundesliga outfit remain highly unlikely to sell the German international in January - with a summer move remaining the most likely way to get hold of the player.
