Arsenal latest: Vucinic and Cabaye suggested and FA Cup team news

Emirates Inside

All the latest news and gossip from the past 24 hours at The Emirates.

Arsenal are apparently back on alert for Juventus striker Mirko Vucinic. Inter Milan were expected to snap him up recently but the Nerazzuri owner Erick Thohir pulled the plug on any potential deal after becoming frustrated with the negotiations.

Now he has been linked with AS Monaco after the injury to Radamel Falcao.

Arsene Wenger reportedly wants to bring the Montenegrin international in on loan until the end of the season - with a view to a permanent deal if he impresses.

However Wenger recently stated:

“We are looking at potential possibilities to get somebody in. But we’re not specifically looking at Vucinic. Some people have visual capacities that I don’t have. We are not on any special case I would love to announce something exciting for you.”

Arsenal are all set to announce their new partnership with Puma on Monday.

The club have announced a ‘special press conference’ for Monday afternoon - and it is widely reported that the club will be announcing the end of their 20-year relationship with Nike.

Reports in The Metro today suggest Arsenal could be back in for Yohan Cabaye. The French international has been in great form recently - and has therefore been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG reportedly want him for £21 million but he is reportedly not keen on a switch to Paris this month.

Instead the player is apparently being lined up by Arsenal, who tried to sign him in the summer, and Manchester United.

Thomas Vermaelen is all set to be offered a new deal at the club. The club captain is struggling for first team football at The Emirates but despite that Wenger wants him to stay:

"I'm open to it; I'm ready to extend his contract. Of course we want Thomas Vermaelen to be happy and to have the number of games a player of his class deserves. But on my side I have a huge respect for his quality and attitude and I am ready to extend his contract.”

Finally, team news ahead of the game against Coventry City in the FA Cup this Friday.

Wenger has confirmed that Nicklas Bendtner is back in the squad and available. Mikel Arteta and Aaron Ramsey are out of the game - but return to training on Monday. Tomas Rosicky is also out of contention.

For Yaya Sanogo it has come too soon - but he gets involved in heavy training from Monday.
