Tottenham Hotspur welcomed back two footballers to training who could make a significant impact in the second half of the season for Tim Sherwood.
Tottenham Hotspur may soon have the luxury of bringing in two accomplished first-team players as box-to-box midfielder Paulinho and defensive rock Jan Vertonghen have both returned to training, as photographed above.
A statement on the club's official website said: 'Jan Vertonghen and Paulinho both trained, Jan taking part in his fourth training session as he works his way back from an ankle injury sustained at Fulham on December 4.
'Paulinho has been out since December 28, also with an ankle problem. Tim Sherwood and his coaching team continue to prepare the team for our next match - next Wednesday's (January 29) cracker against Manchester City in the Premier League [at White Hart] Lane.'
It is unclear, as of yet, whether either, or both players will be fit and ready for the examination against title challenging City.
Spurs are currently placed fifth in the Premier League table, with a 43-point haul - the same as Liverpool's, on fourth - and in a good position to challenge for the elusive fourth spot that will secure Champions League football next season.
