Ozil's the King and 'don't kick Wilshere' - Arsenal teen on life at the Emirates

Arsenal youngster Kristoffer Olsson has given an insight into life with Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere at the club.

Arsenal teenager Kristoffer Olsson has revealed Mesut Ozil is at the top of the hierarchy within the club despite having only moved from Real Madrid on the final day of last summer’s transfer window.

The 18-year-old midfielder gave an interview to Expressen TV from Sweden, revealing that the two players with extremely high status at the club are the German midfielder and Englishman Jack Wilshere.

“(Who would you say is at the top of the hierarchy at Arsenal?) It’s Özil. (Even though he’s just recently joined?) Yeah, Wilshere also has a really high status at the club,” Olsson told the interviewer.

It’s a fascinating insight into the way the dressing room works at the North London club and hints at the sort of influence that these two stars have over the rest of the squad and the youth teams.

Ozil is understandable because he is Arsenal’s big money signing from the summer, the £42.5 million player that every Arsenal youngster wants to be and the glamour guy who moved to the club from the profile of Real Madrid.

Wilshere is also perfectly understandable because he’s the perfect example of what every young player at Arsenal wants to be; that youngster who rises through the youth team ranks to graduate into a first team star.

However, Olsson also highlights something related to Wilshere that Arsene Wenger won’t be at all pleased with; he still smokes when he wants!

“(He even gets to smoke when he wants!?) Yeah, but he has been here since 9 or 10 years old. It’s not that important to him, you shouldn't kick or tackle him in training!” added the youngster.

Arsene Wenger made quite public comments last October that Wilshere needs to look after himself and branded his smoking habit as completely unacceptable although according to this Olsson interview, it doesn’t seem to have stopped.

The comments seem like complete admiration from a teenager trying to make it into the Arsenal senior ranks and it’s encouraging for Olsson and Arsenal fans that he has role models. Other than the smoking of course.
