Man United target: I'm the best in the world

Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal has claimed that he is the best player in the world in his position in a German interview.

Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal is reportedly on Manchester United's shopping list and he isn't afraid to point out why.

The Juventus star has been magnificent this season and is one of the key reasons the Bianconeri are leading the way in Serie A.

The 26-year-old's talents have allegedly attracted the attention of Man United, who are still searching for a midfielder who can provide a spark.

Vidal would be the ideal candidate for the role if the Red Devils could persuade Juve to part with him and he certainly isn't lacking in confidence.

"My excellent form? The explanation is simple, in my role I am the best in the world," Vidal is quoted as saying in German weekly Sport Bild.

"There are loads of players who try to play in the same position as me and are imitating me, but I'll repeat: I am the best in my role because nobody defends like me and still scores as many goals."

Vidal made his name in Germany at Bayer Leverkusen before joining Juventus in July 2011 for just over £8.5m. He is worth considerably more now and any club wishing to sign him would probably need to break the £20m barrier.
