Just 24 hours ago it looked certain that Inter midfielder Fredy Guarin would be wearing a Juventus shirt next season, but now he could be playing for Manchester United instead.
There has been frenzied speculation for weeks over the future of Colombian international Guarin, who has been superb for Inter in Serie A this term.
Chelsea were repeatedly linked with a move but nothing concrete emerged and Juventus swooped in with a part-exchange deal involving Mirko Vucinic.
The deal was all but done but at the eleventh hour it fell apart, reportedly due to the outpouring of anger from Inter fans.
Guarin didn't attend Inter training today and he has been left in limbo, but Turin newspaper Tuttosport believes that Manchester United are poised with an offer.
Inter owner Erik Thohir promised a younger Nerazzurri side when he took charge, which was one reason eyebrows were raised when 27-year-old Guarin was set to be traded for 30-year-old Vucinic.
At 25, Hernandez is still fairly experienced but Tuttosport feels he may be a more attractive option to the Inter fans and to coach Walter Mazzarri, who is still in dire need of striking options.
It will be hard for Guarin to return to Inter's squad but he has reportedly been told he will be welcomed back with open arms.
