Arsenal latest: Draxler should stay, Wenger at Heathrow and teen released

Arsene Wenger Big Coat

All the latest transfer news and gossip from the past 24 hours at The Emirates.

Arsenal target Julian Draxler does not look like being on his way to North London. Reports this morning suggested that Arsenal were ready to offer the Bundesliga outfit a nominal fee and Lukas Podolski in exchange to snap up the talented player.

However Schalke’s CEO Clemens Tonnie has told Draxler to remain a Royal Blue for the foreseeable future:

"I am of the opinion that Julian should play for Schalke next season. That's my personal advise to him. He should not let the interest from abroad play with his head. It's best for his development when he can play without much pressure and with a clear mind. Looking back, at the start of the season he was under a lot of pressure then and the exact same thing will happen again if he moves.”

Arsene Wenger has been spotted at Heathrow Airport today - seemingly on his way to a scouting mission, according to the rumour mill anyway.

Could he be off to scout the Barcelona v Levante game, or Ajax v Feyenoord … or just off to France.

We will soon find out that is for sure.

Paul-Georges Ntep is set to leave Auxerre this month - but Arsenal are not going to be the ones buying him. His agent has stated:

"Nothing is true. As the Auxerre president has said, he has not received any offers from Arsenal for him. Roma? No, at the moment there is no contact with the Giallorossi."

He went on to add that Ntep was likely to move on from the club in January.

Arsenal have parted company with young forward Anthony Jeffrey by mutual consent. The 19-year-old forward trained with Dutch side RKC Waalwijk and is now looking forward to moving on with his career:

"Everyone at Arsenal would like to thank Anthony for his contribution to the Club. We wish him all the best for the future."
