Inter want more money for Andrea Ranocchia, who was reportedly being weighed up as a transfer target by Jose Mourinho recently.

Andrea Ranocchia’s move from Inter to Borussia Dortmund was looking very likely to happen, with an interest from all parties for the Italy international to move to Signal Iduna Park.

However, according to Sky Italia, the clubs have hit a stalemate over the potential transfer fee. It is believed that Jurgen Klopp’s men have bid €7 million for the versatile central defender, but the Serie A giants are not willing to accept this offer.

Ranocchia is in need of regular first-team football ahead of the summer’s World Cup, and has been on the fringes of things at the Giuseppe Meazza of late. Although there is room for negotiation, Dortmund will need to up their offer if they want to land the former Genoa man.

Chelsea have been accredited with an interest in Ranocchia this month, as Jose Mourinho looks to add reinforcements to his squad to aid their title push.

Although Dortmund are still in the driving seat in the battle to sign the Italian centre-half, Chelsea will be watching on with interest to see if negotiations break down over any potential transfer fee.
