Sometimes if you receive a red card, the best thing you can do is not make the situation worse.
Kristian Nemeth may reflect on that over the coming days. The former Liverpool youngster now plays for Dutch side Roda JC, and picked up a straight red in their KNVB Cup loss to AZ Alkmaar.
It's unclear whether the red was directly for the dive, or combined with some choice words from him directly after, but following the card being brandished his reaction only escalated.
Teammates had to repeatedly restrain him from the referee for fear he may make the situation even worse. He attempted to push the referee at one point yet fortunately did not cause any major physical impact, yet can expect a lengthy ban.
Nemeth was a regular in the Liverpool reserve side in the latter Rafa Benitez years, but only ever played pre-season games for the first team. After being loaned to Blackpool and AEK Athens he was sold to Olympiakos in 2010.
This season the striker has eight goals and six assists in 18 Eredivisie starts for Roda.
