Transfer news from Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, West Ham United and Liverpool.

Arsenal are in the race to sign €30 million rated Benfica striker Rodrigo. Reports in Portugal claim that the Gunners are battling against two other clubs to land the 22-year-old who has five goals from 11 league appearances this season.

Samuel Eto’o has claimed he would prefer a move to Mallorca at the end of the season over staying at Chelsea. The former Barcelona and Inter Milan man has a contract with the West London club until the end of the season.

“I’ll always like Barcelona but I personally prefer Mallorca. My son has pressured me to finish my career there, my son is from there,” he’s quoted by the Independent.

Former Manchester United defender and club legend Gary Neville has urged the Premier League champions not to sign Chelsea’s Juan Mata. United have been linked with a possible £40 million deal for the Chelsea midfielder.

“That's a lot of money, but they need a signing. Does he fit in with what I would call the typical philosophy of Manchester United? I would say no,” said Neville.

The Metro has made the quite astonishing claim that Arsenal centre back and captain Thomas Vermaelen could end up at West Ham United. Sam Allardyce has hinted that he admires the Belgian but has admitted that a deal for a player of his quality will be difficult for the Hammers to complete.

Allardyce has also spoken out over a failed attempt to land Monaco striker Lacina Traore on loan, claiming it was the player’s agent who has orchestrated his imminent deal to join Everton.

“In the end we had a long process of going as far as the work permit. It wasn't Monaco and it wasn't us, it was all down to the player's agent. That is who he listened to. That is what happens in today's modern-day game,” said Allardyce.

TalkSport claims Liverpool have been told that £15 million is not enough to sign Lazio midfielder Hernanes.

“I do not want to sell him, we will have to receive an indecent offer - £15m will not be enough,” club president Claudio Lotito has told TMW.

Sky Sports has reported that Manchester United are interested in signing 14-year-old Manchester City star Tom Dele-Bashiru. However, the youngster’s dad has revealed several clubs have already asked about him.

“I have been contacted by a number of clubs and agents to ask about my son's situation at Manchester City,” Dele-Bashiru Senior told reporters.
