QPR 'keeper welcomes Cagliari talk

Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Julio Cesar seems open to a move to Cagliari as he looks to secure a spot at the World Cup.

Despite still being in the frame for a place in Brazil's World Cup squad, Julio Cesar isn't in Queens Park Rangers' first team plans and he seems happy at rumours linking him with Cagliari.

In a bizarre twist to his career, Cesar has gone from being Inter's no 1 to not even making the bench for Championship QPR.

The 34-year-old was close to a move to Napoli last summer and could be forgiven for regretting to stay in London.

But Serie A may come calling again for Cesar as Sardinian side Cagliari's president Massimo Cellino has admitted his interest, which it seems the player would welcome.

"It's nice in Sardinia, always sunny," the ex-Inter man joked to Tuttomercatoweb.

"I'd like it but honestly at the moment no offer has arrived. Right now I don't know what I'll do for the second half of the season but I'm just focussing on training."

QPR would surely listen to an offer for Cesar, who is currently their third-choice 'keeper, and the call from Cagliari could come shortly.
