Upton Park

Here is how West Ham United and Manchester City will line-up for this evening’s match.

West Ham United starting XI: Jaaskelainen, Tomkins, Rat, Johnson, Taylor, Morrison, Nolan, Diarra, Diame, J Cole, Carroll

Subs: Adrian, Jarvis, Collison,Noble, Downing, Chambers, C Cole

Manchester City starting XI: Pantilimon, Clichy, Nastastic, Kompany, Boyata, Navas, Garcia, Fernandinho, Lopes, Aguero, Negredo

Subs: Hart, Demichelis, Rodwell, Dzeko, Zabaleta, Kolarov, Jovetic

They say it isn’t over until the fat lady sings, but she did more than clear her throat when the final whistle blew for the end of the first-leg of this Capital One Cup semi-final.

Manchester City kick-off this evening six goals to the good and with both the talent and the determination to add to that tally. You sense Manuel Pellegrini is not one to encourage his team to sit back.

That said, West Ham must believe they can win this – even if winning it by six may be a push.

The boost a victory against the Premier League’s form-side would give the Hammers should not be underestimated and Sam Allardyce could certainly do with a memorable night at Upton Park.

City are undefeated in their last eight matches against tonight’s hosts, but with a trip to Wembley unlikely for the Hammers, perhaps they should treat this as their cup final and see what happens from there.

What do you think the result will be this evening?
