Former Tottenham player and manager Ossie Ardiles has been caught up in a car crash in the Falklands, and has had to be airlifted to hospital.
The ex-Argentina World Cup winner was said to be travelling with another retired Spurs player, Ricky Villa, before the car overturned in a serious accident.
It has been confirmed that Ardiles has had to receive 21 stitches in his head and is under surveillance at King Edward Memorial Hospital.
The former White Hart Lane pair are in the process of making a television documentary.
Ardiles’ daughter-in-law Aimee has revealed that the pair are recovering after the incident and thanked people for their support.
Ardiles played for Tottenham for ten years, winning the FA Cup and UEFA Cup in his time in North London.
He returned as manager in 1993-94 and famously had the likes of Jurgen Klinsmann at his disposal at the club.
