Once described as an animal by Wenger, Costa attempted to reel in Fazio with a fish-hook, but ended up getting socked in the midsection.
If the speculation linking Atletico Madrid superstar striker Diego Costa, 25, with a big-money transfer to Arsenal or Chelsea in the mid-season market turns out to be correct, then the Brazil-born Spaniard may get no better introduction to the physicality of the Premier League than an off-the-ball kerfuffle with Fabrizio Fazio during Atleti's 1-1 tie with Sevilla at the Vicente Calderon on Sunday, January 19.
In the clip above, Costa can be seen fish-hooking Fazio before the towering defensive player reacts by launching an uppercut into Costa's ribs.
Costa is one of the hottest clinical strikers in world football with a goal (19) and assist (2) return of 21 from 20 Primera Division matches, or 1,684 minutes, returning a goal/assist every 80 minutes on average. He has also scored four and assisted once in three Champions League games (194 minutes).
At 6ft 5in, Fazio is no player to mess with, receives a booking every 5 and a half games on average and has committed 13 fouls from 11 appearances in La Liga thus far this season.
