Emmanuel Adebayor has received plenty of plaudits since his goal-scoring return to Tottenham Hotspur's squad. But during his two-goal performance away to Swansea City on Sunday, he found praise from a rival player.
Rio Ferdinand is no stranger to Twitter, and prior to Manchester United's game at Chelsea the defender was clearly enjoying the early kick-off - and Adebayor's performance in particular - to such an extent that he had to tell people about it.
The former England centre-back was sitting out the Sunday action with a knee injury sustained against the side Spurs faced yesterday. And while he would later be faced with the less enjoyable sight of Samuel Eto'o netting a hat-trick against his own club, at least he took some enjoyment from the Adebayor show.
Branding the Togolese forward 'unplayable', Ferdinand also pondered whether his teammate Moussa Dembele would be picked up on the fact he failed to pass to him earlier in the game.
But you sense Tim Sherwood would have forgiven that considering the final score.
Adebayor is unplayable at the moment. Dembele may still get a verbal in the changing room after not passing to adebayor before!!— Rio Ferdinand (@rioferdy5) January 19, 2014
