Tottenham fans react on Twitter to Adebayor's performance: 'Let's hope the hot-streak lasts'

Adebayor And Saha V Arsenal

The Tottenham Hotspur striker bagged a brace against Swansea City on Sunday, and his performance as a whole was very impressive indeed.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood has been hailed for recalling Emmanuel Adebayor to the team.  And yet after the striker netted twice against Swansea City to make it six goals in eight games, the Spurs boss heaped all the praise firmly on the shoulders of his player.

"I can't take the credit for him," Sherwood told the BBC.  "Emmanuel Adebayor has to take the credit.

"I have just given him the stage to go and perform.  It's not as if he was never a good player."

That last statement was perhaps telling, given Adebayor's failure to get into the team under former boss Andre Villas-Boas.  But regardless, his return has sparked Tottenham's rejuvenation and they now sit outside the top four only on goal-difference.

Looking at a breakdown of his performance on Sunday, Adebayor was nothing short of immense.  He had three scoring attempts (all on target) and netted with two of them.  He was also successful with 39 of 45 of his attempted passes.
