A significant section of Lazio's support would rather see their side lose than aid city rivals Roma by beating Juventus, according to Tuttosport.
Roma started the season in record-breaking fashion with 10 consecutive wins, but they have since slowed down and now trail Juventus by eight points at the top of Serie A.
The slackening of the Giallorossi's blistering early season pace will have come as a massive relief to fans of city rivals Lazio, who are sitting in ninth place.
But some Lazio fans are obviously still worried that Roma could usurp Juventus and have asked their side to take no chances and hand Juventus easy passage at the Stadio Olimpico.
It is possible that some Lazio Ultras will carry that emotion into the ground on match day and support the away side.
This isn't the first time Lazio fans have suggested their side lose to prevent Roma succeeding - in 2010 Lazio faced Inter who were battling Roma for the title and supporters cheered as their side lost 2-0 in a result that was labelled 'a disgrace' by then Roma chief Rosella Sensi.
There were suggestions that pressure had been applied to the Lazio players to not give of their best.
Lazio were in crisis under Vladimir Petkovic but the return of Edy Reja seems to have steadied the ship enough for fans to be willing to lose in order to scupper Roma. There will be a level of scrutiny on Lazio's performance now.
