Tottenham transfer news: £30m German star linked; Benteke back on radar?

A select round-up of transfer news relating to Tottenham Hotspur

The Mirror reports that Tottenham Hotspur will compete to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus next summer.

The player has long been linked with Manchester United, but the latest story claims Spurs will use funds raised from the likely sales of Nacer Chadli and Etienne Capoue to make their move.

Reus is one of German football’s brightest lights and will not come cheap. And yet with a reported £30million release-clause said to be activated next summer, there will be no shortage of suitors for the 24-year-old.

In other news, the Sunday People claims Spurs are considering a move for Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke, and could even make an offer this month.

The Belgian was heavily linked with a switch to White Hart Lane last summer, only to sign a new deal at Villa Park.

After a poor start to the season, Benteke has now rediscovered his form, and could be the subject of a cash-plus-player offer from Tottenham this month.
