Tim Sherwood’s men travel to the Liberty Stadium today, and have a strong recent record against the Welsh side.
Tottenham can move level with fourth-placed Liverpool with three points against Swansea today.
Although Michael Laudrup’s men are no soft touch, there are a host of reasons to suggest that Spurs should get a win at the Liberty Stadium
- Since Swansea’s promotion to the Premier League in the 2011-12 season, Tottenham have won four of the five meetings between the clubs.
- Spurs are in form, winning four of their last five Premier League games. Swansea have had a tough time of it of late, and have only picked up three points from their last seven games – a spell of seven fixtures with victory.
- Spurs have had problems at White Hart Lane, and look more assured on the road. The North Londoners have claimed victory from seven of their ten games so far away from home.
- Midfield lynchpin Sandro is back available for Tottenham, while Andros Townsend may also be in the reckoning. Swansea will continue to be without Michu.
The last time the teams met Roberto Soldado scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot to give Spurs a 1-0 win over Swansea at White Hart Lane. Last season strikes from Jan Vertonghen and Gareth Bale were enough for the visitors to snatch a 2-1 victory at the Liberty Stadium.
