PSG fans have good news for Chelsea and Newcastle

Chelsea and Newcastle fans worried about losing key players, may be able to relax slightly for biggest suitor PSG's own fans doubt it's even possible.

Nobody likes to see the Premier League's most talented stars depart, but there have been countless rumours over the past month to suggest in some cases it could be possible.

Two of the names most prominently linked with moves abroad are Newcastle's Yohan Cabaye, and Chelsea's Juan Mata.

The club linked with pulling off a deal for both, or at least one of them, on a regular basis is French champions PSG, who have the financial capability to pull off such deals.

Yohan Cabaye has made no secret of his desire to play Champions League football, and as PSG midfielder Blaise Matuidi's contract runs down, it has been suggested the Ligue 1 club could move for the international with even just last night The Telegraph discussing a potential bid being on the horizon.

Juan Mata unlike Cabaye finds himself on the fringes at his current club, unexpectedly made a bit-part player by Jose Mourinho. PSG have been linked with a big bid for the Spaniard with Javier Pastore struggling for form.

So will either deal actually happen or will they prove to be all talk?

Fans of the French club have good news for Chelsea and Newcastle, they feel it's more likely they make no January transfer deals than it is they land any individual player.

A poll on French website Le10Sport asked fans who they believe is most likely to arrive in January... the most popular answer: Nobody.

32 per cent of supporters voted that they expected no signings at all, with 18 per cent tipping Cabaye.

14 per cent of respondents to the poll said they thought Mata would be incoming.

While this combined means an equal percentage of supporters think either Cabaye or Mata will arrive, the more unified view is the 'big signing' this January will be nobody.

For fans of both Chelsea and Newcastle who want to see their clubs hang onto the talented duo, that has to be a positive sign.
