Arsenal’s search for a striker to act as a back-up to Olivier Giroud continues, with a host of names being linked with a switch to the Emirates Stadium this January.
One of the most promising players mentioned as a possible new Gunner has been dangerous young French striker Paul-Georges Ntep.
However, the Auxerre forward is in demand, with QPR seemingly ready to beat Arsenal to the 21-year-old’s signature, with the attacker spotted at Loftus Road for their game against Huddersfield.
Rumours in both the French and British media were suggesting that Arsenal were on the verge of signing the prodigy, but these rumblings have now been dispelled as falsity.
The Cameroon-born hitman has caught the eye of plenty of European scouts with exhilarating performances for France under-21’s, scoring six goals in seven games in the process.
Ntep’s signature would be quite the coup for Harry Redknapp’s men, as they continue their assault towards promotion back to the top flight.
For Arsenal, it looks like other targets will have to be pursued instead of the highly rated Auxerre frontman.
