A select round-up of transfer news relating to Manchester United…
Despite the recent reports claiming Manchester United had pulled the plug on Wilfried Zaha’s potential loan move to Cardiff City, the latest story claims the England winger will be allowed to leave Old Trafford…if the club’s injury list shortens.
The Manchester Evening News reports that David Moyes is reluctant to allow Zaha to leave while Nani and Ashley Young are injured.
“That is what I have indicated to the boy, but he is a Manchester United player, that’s what he is,” Moyes is quoted as saying.
In other news, United have reportedly turned their attention back to Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno, with long-term target Leighton Baines rumoured to be signing a new deal at Everton.
Reports in Spain a few weeks ago suggested United had ruled out a move for Moreno, but the Mirror claims the rumoured Real Madrid target is back on Moyes’ radar.
And finally, the Daily Star Sunday claims United have drawn up a list of seven potential new midfielders – including Chelsea’s Juan Mata – and hope to add to their squad either in January or more likely next summer.
That is quite a shopping list, but Moyes may be hard-pressed to sign any of them given the cost involved, with Hernanes possibly the most likely given his reported contract issues at the Serie A club.
