Juventus scouts at Liverpool vs Villa - who were they watching?

Tuttosport has reported that the Italian champions are thought to have been running the rule over Christian Benteke at Anfield, with the striker a target for the Bianconeri.

With the transfer window open, Italian giants Juventus have been linked with a fair few Premier League players over the last couple of weeks.

Antonio Conte’s men are believed to be interested in Manchester United duo Patrice Evra and Nemanja Vidic, while Tuttosport have also claimed that the Bainconeri had scouts at Anfield on Saturday.

It has been stated that director Giuseppe Marotta sent spies to Merseyside to take in Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Aston Villa, with the purpose of running the rule over visiting striker Christian Benteke.

The Belgium international netted Villa’s second goal in a powerful display, which will have impressed the Italian onlookers.

With the likes of Fabio Quagliarella and Mirko Vucinic said to be ready to leave Turin, reports in Italy have suggested that the powerhouses are eager to add a new centre forward to their squad.

Benteke had been the subject of plenty of transfer rumours following a fantastic debut campaign in England, but signed a new Villa contract in the summer.
