Jose Mourinho has been extremely vocal about his affection for Chelsea in recent weeks, but it seems that he also had an emotional attachment to Inter.
The Special One had an exceptional spell at Inter, delivering two Serie A titles, the Coppa Italia and, most crucially, the 2010 Champions League.
Mourinho left San Siro for Real Madrid before returning to his old stomping ground of Chelsea and he has revealed that he found his Nerazzurri exit particularly painful.
"Inter were the only club that I left in tears. However, I needed a new experience and I had already been close to Real Madrid when I was at Chelsea.
"Real are one of those clubs you just have to coach if you can. I didn't want to end my career and ask 'why didn't I join Real?'"
Mourinho also denied that he had said leading Chelsea to Premier League glory over Manchester City would be his greatest achievement.
"I never said that," he said. "Winning the Champions League with a Portuguese team wasn't easy, winning the treble with Inter wasn't easy and it wasn't easy to win La Liga against the strongest Barcelona team in history, getting a record number of points and goals."
