A select round-up of transfer news relating to Liverpool…
Liverpool have been linked with a move for Antonio Candreva, an Italian midfielder currently playing for Lazio.
The 26-year-old was previously linked with a move to Manchester United, but is now said to be on Brendan Rodgers’ radar as he seeks summer reinforcements.
It appears no deal will happen in January, but the Express claims Liverpool are considering a move for the man who is jointly owned by his current club and fellow Serie A side Udinese. Lazio are reportedly keen to complete a deal to secure sole ownership, which could prompt Rodgers into action.
There is little doubt he would add further quality to the Reds’ midfield, but this may be speculation for speculations sake, and the complicated nature of the potential transfer should see this one taken with a pinch of salt.
In other news, the Reds have been linked with Diego De Girolamo – Sheffield United’s 18-year-old winger-cum-forward.
According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool are just one of a host of sides watching the player who was born in England but has made six appearances for Italy’s under-18s.
Having recovered from an anterior cruciate ligament injury, the teenager could feature against Bradford this afternoon.
