I raised a few laughs from Manchester City fans last week when I suggested Cardiff’s former Manchester United men could use their history as a catalyst to do the double over the Blues. But as playful as my suggestion may have been, someone has to win at the Etihad Stadium eventually…don’t they?
Perhaps not, because Manuel Pellegrini’s men are looking in devastating form and few would bet against them adding a few more to their hefty goal-tally against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
City will know that any slip-up from Arsenal could see them overtake Arsene Wenger’s men at the top of the table. Similarly they will see tomorrow’s match between Chelsea and United as a chance to move further ahead of at least one of them.
It is two months since today’s hosts last lost a league match, and with 99 goals already scored in all competitions, any upset this afternoon would be one of the biggest of the season.
What do you think the result will be this afternoon?
