Ole Gunner Solskjaer's transfer plans have taken a hit this week, according to reports.
After signing Magnus Eikrem and Mats Moller Daehli, the Cardiff boss had reportedly targeted Manchester United duo Wilfried Zaha and Fabio.
However, Goal.com reported on Friday that a loan move for Zaha was called off by his parent club - leaving the winger furious.
Manager David Moyes has reportedly vetoed a deal that would see the 21-year-old leave Old Trafford until the end of the season, prompting claims that Zaha stormed out of a training session upon hearing the news.
Cardiff's transfer plans have thus suffered a significant setback, although plenty of time remains for Solskjaer to secure alternative targets, while there have been no developments - good or bad - in his bid to bring Fabio to the club.
While it has remained quiet on the buying front, there have been several developments in terms of departures at Cardiff, with new boss Solskjaer keen to leave his stamp on the squad.
- According to WalesOnline, Etien Velikonja is set for loan move to Sarajevo.
- Meanwhile, striker Nicky Maynard has officially joined Wigan on loan.
- However, one man who is determined to fight for his place at the Cardiff City Stadium is Peter Whittingham, as reported by WalesOnline.
