Juventus may change Spurs player swap offer

Fresh reports in Italy suggest that Juventus are ready to change their angle of attack as they push for Tottenham midfielder Erik Lamela.

It is no secret that Erik Lamela likes the idea of returning to Serie A after failing to settle at Tottenham and Juventus are said to be considering a new part exchange offer to Spurs.

Inter and Lazio had been linked with Lamela, but now it seems that Juventus are the most interested party in luring the Argentine star back to the peninsula.

Lamela was lethal with Roma last year but he has failed to recreate that form in London and there have been suggestions that he has suffered from culture shock in his new environment.

Juventus reportedly began talks with Tottenham about a part exchange deal that would involve sending striker Mirko Vucinic to Spurs, but he now seems to have been switched for defender Leonardo Bonucci.

Reports on Sportmediaset's Calciomercato programme insist that Tottenham aren't interested in Vucinic but there have also been suggestions that it was the player who rejected the move, preferring instead the idea of signing for Inter.

Whatever the reason, Juventus may use Bonucci as bait. The 26-year-old centre back is an established figure in the Italian national side and is renowned for his ability on the ball.

Adding Bonucci to the deal would represent a big sacrifice on the Old Lady's part in order to sign Lamela because he is a key man in Turin and a popular figure.

It may also come as a shock to the player who has been very vocal in the press in recent weeks about his desire to win multiple trophies with Juventus.

At this stage these are nothing more than rumours and neither side have even given any official indication that they are discussing the future of Lamela.
