Arsenal transfer news: £3m for 'next Sol Campbell', Morata keen on Italy and Barca starlet linked

All the latest transfer gossip from The Emirates Stadium this Friday morning.

Arsenal have been told that talented Nottingham Forest defender Jamaal Lascelles will cost them £3 million.

The 20-year-old central defender has been a revelation for Forest this season and has also been linked with moves to Newcastle United and Liverpool.

Compared to Sol Campbell in style, he has been watched by chief scout Steve Rowley - while North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur reportedly tried to sign him in 2012.

If he were to join Arsenal he would likely be loaned back to Forest to help in their promotion campaign - before joining up with Arsenal at the start of the 2014-15 season.

However Forest, despite accepting they will sell at £3 million, are attempting to tie him down to a new and improved deal at the City Ground.

Arsenal are reportedly looking at Barcelona starlet Munir El Haddadi. The 18-year-old striker has impressed in recent B team games and he would follow the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Jon Toral and Hector Bellerin in making the switch.

However Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich have also been looking at him - so The Gunners will fear another Antonio Sanabria situation - who rejected them for AS Roma earlier this month.

Dimitar Berbatov is not set to leave Fulham this month. The Bulgarian, whose contract expires this summer, has been linked with a bargain switch to North London - however yesterday his boss Rene Meulensteen maintained:

"No. There is no problem at all, he is a Fulham player."

It seems all reports on Alvaro Morata this morning suggest he will not be an Arsenal player at the end of the month.

The Spanish under-21 international has been linked with a move to Arsenal on loan for the rest of the season - to solve the striking issues in North London and to get first-team football he is not receiving in the Spanish capital.

However reports now suggest he is more likely to head to Italy - where Inter Milan and Fiorentina are both said to be keen.
