Liverpool's Luiz Suarez has been dominant since his return from a ban which delayed his season.
What if the race for the Golden Boot began when Luis Suarez returned from his ban at the end of September?
While Suarez tops the standings as it is, here's a look at just how skewed it has been in his favour since he began his own 2013/14 season:
|Sergio Agüero||Man City||FW||10||3||10||785|
|Álvaro Negredo||Man City||FW||7||1||15||1,022|
|Wayne Rooney||Man Utd||FW||7||7||13||1,161|
|Yaya Touré||Man City||MF||7||3||15||1,308|
|Danny Welbeck||Man Utd||FW||6||1||11||658|
Suarez has more than double the goals of any player since his return, and as many assists as Eden Hazard.
The only player to hold a candle to him is Sergio Aguero, who has had his campaign halted by injury. Had he still been fit there is every chance he would be close to his fellow South American at the top.
Yet the facts are nobody else has stepped up, and Suarez dominates- even in the overall top scorers standings:
|Sergio Agüero||Man City||FW||13||15||1,126|
|Yaya Touré||Man City||MF||10||20||1,758|
Liverpool are lucky to have him, and it's no surprise they were so determined to hang onto him in the summer and fight off advances from Arsenal.
