VIDEO: Did Liverpool and Spurs miss a trick? Linked free signing scores on home debut

Former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur target Keisuke Honda scores first goal on home debut.

27-year-old Keisuke Honda capped his first appearance at the San Siro with a tidy finish from a rebounded effort, putting Milan 3-0 up in their Coppa Italia match with Spezia.

Keisuke Honda signed a pre-contract with AC Milan back in October and officially joined Milan on a free transfer in January, joining up with his team mates for the first time on the 4th.

Prior to signing for Milan, there was a lot of talk about interest from the Premier League, notably Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.

And now he has officially played in his first game on the big stage in Italy, the first goal for the club could be a sign of things to come.

It wasn't just his goal that caught the eye, as the Japanese International's sharp movement and eye for a pass was also widely applauded by Milan fans.

It begs the question whether Liverpool and Tottenham should have done more to entice the player to move to the Premier League or were they right to buckle under Milan's offer.
