Chelsea new favourites for FOUR stars: Former Real Madrid striker joins list

Hulk playing for Brazil

With 15 days left of the transfer window, we take a look at the players SkyBet are backing the Chelsea to sign before deadline day.

Prior to the January transfer window, we ran a list of the players that SkyBet had tipped the Blues favourites to snap up in the following month and what odds they had been given.

Chelsea went under the radar for much of the pre transfer window speculation in comparison to other sides, but were named the favoured destination for five different  players.

See the previous list below:

5/1 - Luke Shaw
5/1 - Stephan El Shaarawy
11/2 - Christian Benteke
6/1 - Radamel Falcao
6/1 - Wayne Rooney

It was always inevitable however that money would be spent by Abramovich in aid of Mourinho rebuilding a side capable of winning the Premier League with consummate ease.

And sixteen days into the window and Chelsea have already splashed out an incredible £21m on Nemanja Matic, a player they had previously owned but allowed to leave as part of the Luiz deal.

The signing of the Serbian is predicted to be the start of their spending, rather than the end of it. And SkyBet have added four faces to their list of players, they believe Mourinho is favourite to bring to Stamford Bridge.

See the updated list below:

8/15 - Fredy Guarin
9/4 - Luke Shaw
11/4 - Radamel Falcao
9/2 - Gonzalo Higuain
5/1 - Stephan El Shaarawy
6/1 - Wayne Rooney
6/1 - Mario Balotelli
6/1 - Hulk

It's no surprise that the bookies are heavily backing Chelsea to sign a striker this January, having been pointed out many times as their weak link in the side.

Falcao is now the favourite to be the striker Chelsea sign, as Aston Villa's Christian Benteke is now favoured to a move to the Emirates.

Higuain, Balotelli and Hulk come into the list and join Wayne Rooney as other potential striker transfer deals. And all 5 players arguably have enough in their locker to help Chelsea regain the Premier League title at the end of the season.

Another new inclusion in Fredy Guarin is at the top of the list, but in light of yesterday's transfer activity, I would find it very surprising if Mourinho would still spend out on Colombian.  Considering he has more pressing matters at hand, in terms of areas he needs to improve.

And finally, Luke Shaw's odds have been cut by more than half and according to reports in The Star, Mourinho has made his move on the player offering a whopping £21m for the 18-year-old.
